Privacy notice

Last updated: [DATE YOU PUBLISH]

We are going to know your pharmacy, your post, and in time some of your passwords. This page says plainly what we hold, why, and who else ever sees it. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.

What this covers

  1. Who we are
  2. What we collect, and when
  3. Why we hold it
  4. Who else sees it
  5. What we will never do with it
  6. What your family can see
  7. How long we keep it
  8. How we protect it
  9. Your choices
  10. Changes, and how to reach us

1. Who we are

AREF VENTURES LLC, a limited liability company registered in New Jersey, doing business as Trusted Care Partners. We help older adults with paperwork, prescriptions, ordering, and technology. Everything we do is by phone, text, and email.

2. What we collect, and when

If you only fill in the form on our website

Your name, phone number, and — if you choose to give them — your email address, your town, and whatever you write in the last box. That is all. You are not obliged to give us an email address, and nothing bad happens if you leave it out.

If you become a client

This is where it gets more serious, and you should read it properly. Depending on what you ask us to do, we may end up holding:

We collect none of this by default. Each piece arrives only because you asked us to do something that needed it. If you would rather we did not hold a particular thing, say so and we will work around it — usually by doing that task with you on the phone instead of storing anything.

Our website

Our site sets no advertising or tracking cookies and does not follow you around the internet. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security.

3. Why we hold it

To do the thing you asked us to do, to bill you, to keep the record of what was done, and to meet our own legal and tax obligations. Nothing else. We do not build profiles, we do not do behavioural advertising, and we do not analyse your data for any purpose you have not asked for.

4. Who else sees it

A small number of companies handle data on our behalf so the business can function. They are bound to use it only for the job we give them:

We also share your information with third parties when you ask us to — telling your pharmacy to send a refill, or submitting a benefit application in your name. That is the service. We do it on your instruction, not on our own initiative.

We may disclose information if the law requires it, or if we reasonably believe someone is at risk of serious harm — including where we suspect an older adult is being financially exploited. We would tell you we were doing it unless doing so would make things worse.

5. What we will never do with it

6. What your family can see

This deserves its own section, because it is the part people worry about most.

You decide who is told what, and you can change it at any time. If you want your daughter to receive a weekly summary, we will send it. If you want her told nothing, she is told nothing — including the fact that you use us at all.

We will never quietly report on you to your children. If a family member contacts us asking about you, we will not confirm or deny anything unless you have already said we may.

Where an adult child is paying for the service, they are entitled to know what they are being billed. They are not automatically entitled to know what you asked us to do.

7. How long we keep it

8. How we protect it

No system is perfect, and we are not going to claim ours is. If your information were ever exposed, we would tell you promptly and tell you plainly what happened.

9. Your choices

Whether or not the law obliges us, we will do all of the following on request:

Ring or email us and ask. There is no form and no fee. We will confirm it is really you before we act — usually a phone call — because doing otherwise would be its own security hole.

We do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 18. Our service is for adults.

10. Changes, and how to reach us

If we change this notice in a way that matters, we will tell existing clients directly rather than quietly updating the page and hoping nobody notices.

Questions, or a request about your information: ring (908) 555-0142 or email [email protected].
